Don't they teach anything in school nowdays?

I posted a question very similar to this when I first discovered Yahoo Answers, I feel your despair. History seems to have very little value in the world, any form of real intelligence or knowledge seems to have been eradicated from society. A hundred years ago people were proud of an education, now the 'news' of the day is whether some host on some tv show has split with some man. I call it the dumbing down of society. Nice to know someone else feels the same way I do. There are still history nutters out there, me included.
