Best razor to use for a close shave?

I use a Gillette 3 and it SUCKS... I was wondering if there are any good razors that give you a very close shave because the Gillette 3 leaves me looking like I got 5 o' Clock shadow and it's annoying... So any that are good and have razors that don't go shatty after the first use possibly.
